The Writers Group meet on 1st and 3rd Monday of the month to share and discuss draft copies of their own work. Newcomers should just turn up and hover around the ‘back table’ until people with bunches of paper begin to emerge from the woodwork.
Traditional Folk Sessions every 2nd and 4th Monday of the month. Sat around a table in the upstairs bar this is a lovely night of well known folk music, fiddles, flutes, accordion, guitars, banjo, you name it!
Winchester Folk Club

The Society For Storytelling hosts Wykeham Tales in the cellar every 2nd Wednesday at 8pm.
‘Singarounds’ are held on the third Wednesday of each month. These are informal evenings where everyone gets together for a drink, and to play, sing or watch. This can be anything from unaccompanied singing to instrumental tunes, and is open to solo’s, duo’s, or whatever goes! The aim is for people to get together in a friendly, relaxed environment & have the opportunity to air their music without the pressure of a staged performance.

Rick Tarrant aka ‘the human jukebox’ plays unplugged in a corner of the bar on a Saturday night, often accompanied by a banjo player or two. By the end of the night you can expect a full blown singalong of popular quality favourites.
Quiz Night is every 1st Sunday of the month. The pubs general knowledge quiz can varies in difficulty as each month the questions are set by the winning team from the previous month. Its all in the name of fun and there is a modest cash prize for the winners.
